“Bir” is a racist term for them who lost in the unification of Nepal:
COVID 19 Enough is Enough yesterdays’ protest at Shahid Gate was typical and interesting and followed very peacefully. In the meantime, it also seemed appropriate because of the behavior that the Nepalese government has been performing.
There was also one thing that had attracted most photographers, which was the salute from Nepal police when protesters finally sang the Nepali national anthem. The national anthem has been included in the word “Bir,” and it is a sign of racism for those who lost their native land when King Pirthabi Narayan conquered all Nepal. If we still believe in “Birata” then why don’t Nwpalese bring back Monarch again?!
The other exciting scene was numbers of photographers and reporters from various media, that seemed there were more media people than protesters. We all know how the popping of Nepali media and their sustainability was a big question that every conscious person speculated.
Protesters were often told to maintain social distance, but what kept them safe from lying down on the street was a sort of more than they tried to depict themselves of the desperate situation. It wasn’t easy to digest.
By observing that protest, there were so many possibilities in people’s minds to raise questions.
Why did this protest only around the topic COVID19 even there were not so many people that have impacted?
Was that a proxy protest?
Why couldn’t this protest include diversity?
Why are other current issues isolated? Like Nepal’s Map, MCC, Smart City, Fast Track
What causes those protests could not reach other economic classes?
Why did they mention they just protested for reminding the government about COVID19?
What is HAMINEPAL?
